One small thing you can do today

One small thing you can do today

Hi Reader,

The beginning of a spiritual journey can feel overwhelming.

There's so much to explore, so many directions to go. It's tempting to either dive in headfirst or freeze and not know where to start.

Here's what I'd suggest instead.

Start small. Start today.

Get curious, on purpose. Pick one topic that's been pulling at you. A book, a podcast, a video. Give it ten minutes. Write down what it stirs up. That's it.

Spend some time outside. Nature has a way of cutting through the noise. You don't need to do anything special. Walk slowly. Notice what's around you. Let yourself land in the present moment.

Find one other person on a similar path. A community, a group, an event. You don't need to find your tribe overnight. Just take one step toward connection.

Listen to what your gut is telling you. Your intuition is already there. It just needs practice. When a question comes up, notice your first instinct before your mind jumps in to analyse it.

None of this needs to be perfect. It just needs to be a start.

Your weekly practical tip

Practice Daily Mindfulness: Set aside just a few minutes each day to sit in silence. Focus on your breath, allowing thoughts to come and go without judgment. This simple practice can help ground you and enhance your self-awareness.

If you try any of these, let me know how it goes.

With warmth and Munay,
Jamie,
The Sacred Captain

Hi Reader, Embracing Change Hello spiritual soul, This week, I want to talk about something we all face but often resist: “the fear of change”. It’s a common human experience to feel uneasy when confronted with new circumstances, whether it’s a new job, a move to a different city, or even changes in our relationships. This resistance can often leave us feeling stuck, unable to move forward. Why Do We Resist Change? Change can trigger feelings of uncertainty and fear. We cling to the familiar...

Hi Reader, As we sit here together, sipping our herbal tea, I want to talk about something that weighs heavily on many of our hearts: purpose and meaning, especially during these challenging times. Have you found yourself questioning what it all means? It’s so easy to feel lost when the world feels chaotic. Take a moment to reflect: what truly matters to you? Your personal values can be like a compass, guiding your actions even when the path ahead seems unclear. When was the last time you...

Hi Reader, Isolation and Loneliness Hey there, friend. As we sit here with our warm cups of coffee, I can’t help but think about how isolation and loneliness have crept into our lives lately. With social distancing becoming a norm, many of us have felt the weight of solitude in ways we never imagined. Does this feel familiar to you? It’s okay to admit that it does. We’ve all been there, grappling with the quiet moments that linger a little too long. The impact of this isolation on our mental...
